MIRA

What do you do for VOLANS?
I am responsible for the development of all VOLANS designs. Together with the rest of the team we draw and discuss ideas and define designs. Then I create the patterns on the doll and sew the prototypes in our studio in Zurich. For the production I draw all the pieces on pattern paper to cut. Ivon and I then carry out an important and thorough final inspection of the finished designs in Croatia.
 
How would you describe yourself? Your style?
I am full of energy and have a great zest for life, for which I am very grateful. At the age of 72, I enjoy life and devote myself above all to my two grandchildren and VOLANS. This is great fun for me and I’m happy to still experience sooo much! My style is simple and elegant and I feel most comfortable in natural tones. Glitter and kitsch are out of the question.
 
Which VOLANS design is your favourite?
GRACE, a design from our very first collection, which is still one of our classics.
 
What’s your favourite thing to eat at the beach?
A lot of fruits!
 
My life principle
The most important thing to me is my family and my grandchildren, and then VOLANS gives me great pleasure.

IVON

What do you do for VOLANS?
Together with my mom I founded VOLANS in 2018. Since then, I do everything it takes to lead a business – create the collections, discover new materials and organise everything with the production. I also try to manage the webshop, logistics, sales/marketing and accounting as well as possible. Fortunately, Tiziana & Valerie are now also supporting us in this areas, for which I am very grateful.
 
How would you describe yourself? Your style?
Always a little confused, but full of energy and great joy in life and in my work at VOLANS. I can’t resist a good meal and a fine wine. Very important to me are my friendships & family, which make life so worth living. My style is clear and straightforward. I love refined cuts and have a soft spot for special shoes. 🙂
 
Which VOLANS design is your favourite?
My favourite designs are DANKA, with the wonderful ruffles, and the bikini top EVKA in our new velvet fabric. I discovered it at a trade fair and was immediately impressed by the feel of the fabric and the colour.
 
What’s your favourite thing to eat at the beach?
The sweet, green figs from my grandmother garden in Croatia!

What do you do for VOLANS?
At VOLANS, I’m responsible for Customer Service and Logistics. I am the first point of contact for our customers and, together with the teams in Rothrist and Rheinfelden, I ensure that shipping and returns are handled smoothly and efficiently.
 
How would you describe yourself? Your style?
I am humorous, open, and like to see life from a positive perspective. I feel most comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt. Natural and uncomplicated, just the way I am.
 
Which VOLANS design is your favourite?
I ordered my first GRACE in black from Ivon in 2018. I’ve stayed loyal to this design ever since—unfortunately, not to the size 😊. Over time, I’ve added navy and green to my collection. Recently, I also became the proud owner of a MAJLIN. The fit is perfect for me, and I feel completely comfortable wearing it.
 
What’s your favourite thing to eat at the beach?
During summer holidays, when I visit my in-laws in Croatia, I enjoy the delicious seafood from the Adriatic.
 
My life principle
The glass, preferably a wine glass, is half full, not half empty. I like to see things positively and try to recognize the best in every situation.ife is better with a smile on your face!

VALERIE

What do you do for VOLANS?
I get to promote the beautiful swim collections! With my many years of marketing experience in both online and offline channels, I plan the communication together with Ivon, organize shootings and events, create the website with Tiziana, produce ads, and take care of social media.
 
How would you describe yourself? Your style?
I am upbeat, curious and like to try new things – my friends say I am a freedom-loving hippie 😉 My clothing style differs depending on the mood, but I generally like it sporty-elegant, comfortable and sometimes it may also be romantic.
 
Which VOLANS design is your favourite?
I love MIKA One Piece!!! The design nestles so beautifully to my figure and I feel super comfortable and sexy at the same time thanks to the deep neckline
 
What’s your favourite thing to eat at the beach?
Always with me – a nut bar and an apple. No matter where I am.

Every journey starts with a single step – be brave and just do it.

TIZIANA

What do you do for VOLANS?
Graphic and website designer, also supporting photo shoots and image editing – thanks to my background in product design, I can help shape the VOLANS designs and contribute to the development of new products.
 
How would you describe yourself? Your style?
I’m full of energy, love good food and I put my heart and soul into everything I do. My style is mostly classic-elegant, as long as it is comfortable – life is too short to be uncomfortable!
 
Which VOLANS design is your favourite?
DUNAV as an absolute classic that fits perfectly and LEO with the dreamlike decoltee and back for when I feel more daring!
 
What’s your favourite thing to eat at the beach?
Watermelon! And an Aperol spritz in hand also does not hurt. 😉
